  • In the October 2015 issue of NCFA’s Adoption Advocate, Nicole Strickland − birth mother and co-founder of BirthMom Buds − shares how she helped create a birth mother community and found the support she needed. Nicole also offers recommendations for how adoption agencies and attorneys, adoptive parents, and friends and family members can support birth parents during and after placement.
  • Building Identity: “Who Can I Be?” There are tons of ways to teach your child about his birth culture. Elizabeth Larsen discusses culture camps, heritage trips, and more.
  • “The Meetings of the Moms” An adoptee writes about the first moment her adoptive mother and birth mother met in person, after she embarked on a search to find her birth mom.
